General Rules of Discipline

The good name of the college is in the hands of the students whether on or off the premises. The college has utmost faith in its students and in their desire to uphold its standard. The academic year is divided into two semesters. If the student is leaving the college with in a week or month she can claim the tuition fees. The fee should be paid with in 15 days from the commencement of the academic year. As per the request of parents, the principal can grant permission and extend the date of payment up to one month.

  • Students are expected to assemble in the class room soon after the first bell.
  • College timing is 8.50 am to 2.00 pm.
  • The gate pass from the Principal/HOD is required to leave the premises during college hours.
  • If any student is ill, she is taken to the non residential centre with the permission of the HOD and the Principal.
  • Students must respectfully wish a member of the college staff when they meet her.
  • They must be courteous in and outside the college in speech and action.
  • Disobedience, irregular attendance, malpractices in examinations, habitual carelessness, bad conduct and manners, and non observance of the rules of the college shall meet with strong disciplinary action which may entail dismissal from college.
  • Regularity and punctuality for classes and tests are stressed. Absentees from internal tests and model exams due to illness or authorized participation in college or university programme should be considered for retest. Absences due to illness should be supported by a valid medical certificate.
  • Students should be neat and decent in their dress code and person.
  • During working hours, students should always wear their identity card on the college grounds.
  • Students who take leave more than 3 days should submit medical certificate to the Principal countersigned by the HOD’s.
  • Any change of address/phone number should be intimated to the college by the students/parents.
  • Electronic gadgets like camera, cell phone, I pad, pager etc. should not be brought to the college.
  • Students who lose anything or find anything that does not belong to them should report it to the college office.
  • Students should consider college property as their own and should cause no willful damage.
  • Potable water should not be wasted by students.
  • Students who arrive on two-wheelers must wear a helmet and have their own driver's license.
  • Students should not collect money without the prior permission from the Principal.

Attendance

  • Every student shall attend the class regularly. If any student is absent even for any one period of half day, she shall be considered as absent for the entire half day.
  • A candidate must have 75% of attendance per semester to appear for the semester examination. Candidates who have less than 75% of attendance but about 65% will have to remit condonation fee to the university to appear for the semester exam.
  • A student shall not be absent from a class except for valid reasons. She should apply for leave in advance to the principal in the prescribed leave form, which could be obtained from the college office.
  • The leave application form should be countersigned by the parent / guardian and the respective class teacher and HOD.
  • Leave letter should be produced on the day when the student returns to the college.

Tests and Examinations

  • Class tests, internal tests, model exams and Semester exams are obligatory for all students.
  • Every semester, the progress of the students in internal tests, model exams, and semester exams will be reported to the parents or guardians at the PTA meeting.
  • This is to rouse the responsibility of the parents and to get their cooperation in the common cause of education.
  • Students are responsible for their hall tickets. No duplicate will be issued.

Education Policy

Nutrition Lab Rules & Regulations

  • No one permitted in the laboratory with foot wears.
  • Bring clean towel or cloth.
  • Bring your own calculator.
  • Tuck your shawls/saree and put up your hair.
  • No unauthorized experiments are to be performed in the laboratory.
  • Eating food or drinking beverages in between the practical in the laboratory is not permitted.
  • Leave cookware clean and dry at the close of each laboratory period.
  • Wash and wipe desktop with clean cloth.
  • Be sure that gas and water are off.
  • Each student is responsible for cleaning up spilled foods or broken cookware.
  • Never pick up hot utensils with your hands.
  • If clothing catches fire, use a fire blanket or safety shower. If no blanket or safety shower is available, roll the person over the floor while covering with other coats.
  • Never spray a fire extinguisher directly on a person.
  • You are responsible to clean your cookware and bench.
  • Leave the washing sink very clean without food particles.
  • Use hard water for cleaning and washing cookware’s and equipments.
  • Use drinking water only for cooking.
  • Before leaving the laboratory, electrical equipment should be turned off, gas burners extinguished and no tap water left running.
  • Do not operate electrical equipment with wet hands.
  • Know the location of fire extinguishers.

Fashion Designing Lab Rules & Regulations

  • Students should write their name, date, time of entry and the purpose of entry in the entry register.
  • Leave the foot wear at the entrance of the lab.
  • Use the machine allotted for each individual and they are instructed not to use other machine without prior permission.
  • Machine should be covered after use.
  • Clean the place before leaving the lab.
  • Bring all the equipment that are necessary to operate the machine.
  • Use the equipment that are necessary to operate the machine.
  • After use return the materials safe to the department.
  • Handle with care as the equipments.
  • Maintain silence during practicals.
  • If you break the common things kindly acknowledge and enter your name in the breakage register or replace the material.
  • Switch off the fan and light after use.
  • Display materials that belonged to the department should be handled with care.
  • Replace the materials that are on the notice board and rearrange then once in a week.
  • Do not touch the showcase articles.
  • The students are requested to obey the above rules and regulation strictly to facilitate the smooth functioning of the department.

Computer Lab Rules & Regulations

DO'S

  • Leave your footwear outside.
  • Come prepared to work.
  • Bring only your observation note.
  • Use only the assigned computer.
  • Be gentle with your keyboard and mouse.
  • Work quietly.
  • Shut down the computer after finishing your work.
  • Mark your time in and time out in the entry note.
  • Push your chair in when you leave.

DON'T

  • Don’t change any settings.
  • Don’t touch the screens.
  • Don’t come inside with flowers.
  • Don’t eat or drink in the lab.
  • Don’t insert metal objects such as clips, pins and needles into the computer casings. They may cause fire.
  • Don’t touch connect or disconnect any plug or cable without your lecturer/laboratory technician’s permission.
